Masterful Mindset – Put a Little Spring in Your Step
“Begin each day with a little courage, a little curiosity and a little spring in your step.” ~ Doe Zantamata
What excites you? What gives you a spring in your step? Are you doing these things regularly? What are you waiting for?
It’s so easy to go through life on auto pilot. Following a mundane routine, day in and day out. But what if you had the opportunity to make life a little more exciting? What would make you happy and put a little spring in your step today or this week?
If you find yourself living by the “When-Then Principle” as I like to call it, then I want to invite you to reevaluate what’s really important to you and make a plan to change the way you are living.
So, you ask… what is the “When-Then Principle”? Well, it’s that rule of life that you follow when you find yourself always saying, “When I __________ then I’ll __________” You can fill in the blanks any way you like. When I make more money then I’ll be happy. When I finish this project then I’ll make time for my family. But the truth is, if you don’t find ways to live in the moment – to find happiness, express love and balance your life with less stress and more rest, then you can easily end up dragging yourself through a never-ending list of tasks and never being happy or content.
My challenge to you, on this last week of March, is to make a list of all the things you’ve been putting off that would surely put a little spring in your step and instead of waiting to live your life fully, begin to make a plan to live it now.
Sure, you still have things you must get done. I get it… we all do. But why not enjoy the journey along the way to that desired destination? Rather than keeping your head down, following the same old routine and living by “When-Then”, decide to get out of the mundane rut you’ve been walking and live in the NOW.
Think of ways to make your life happy now. Think of ways to enjoy life now. Think of ways to reduce stress and rest now. Then begin to add those little ideas to your life now. What you’ll find is that when you put a little spring in your step, it makes traveling the journey not only more enjoyable for you but so much more worthwhile too.
