Challenge and Inspire Others

“Influence is not about elevating yourself, but about lifting others.” ~ Sheri Dew

Think about someone who helped shape who you are today.

Not just someone who supported you.
Not just someone who believed in you.

But someone who challenged you.

Someone who saw more in you than you were seeing in yourself at the time.
Someone who nudged you when you wanted to shrink.
Someone who lovingly refused to let you settle.

Chances are, that influence changed you.

And that kind of influence doesn’t happen by accident.

Support Is Important. Challenge Is Transformational.

There’s a difference between making someone comfortable and helping them grow.

Comfort keeps people safe.
Challenge helps them expand.

The most influential people in your life probably did both. They believed in you, and they expected more from you. They offered encouragement, and they raised the standard.

They might have:

  • Challenged your excuses.
  • Asked you harder questions.
  • Held you accountable to your goals.
  • Encouraged you to dream bigger.
  • Reminded you who you are when you forgot.

That combination, belief plus accountability, is what fuels growth.

And it’s one of the most powerful ways you can influence others.

Who in Your Life Needs a Loving Nudge?

This is where influence becomes personal.

Is there someone around you who is capable of more than they’re currently stepping into?

  • A child who needs confidence.
  • A team member who needs ownership.
  • A friend who needs courage.
  • A partner who needs clarity.
  • Maybe even yourself.

Sometimes leadership looks like encouragement.

And sometimes it looks like asking:

“Is this really the best you can do?”
“What would stepping up look like here?”
“What are you avoiding?”

Not harshly.
Not critically.
But intentionally.

Inspiration Without Accountability Is Empty

It’s easy to motivate people in the moment.

It’s harder and more impactful to help them build strength over time.

You influence at a higher level when you:

  • Speak possibility into someone’s life.
  • Challenge limiting narratives.
  • Encourage disciplined action.
  • Celebrate effort, not just outcome.
  • Model resilience when things don’t go as planned.

You’re not pushing people to impress you.

You’re helping them become who they’re capable of becoming.

And that’s leadership.

Start Here

This week, ask yourself:

  • Where am I allowing someone to stay small because it feels easier?
  • Where could I offer both belief and accountability?
  • Where could I challenge someone to level up with love?

True influence is not about control.

It’s about elevation.

When you rise and invite others to rise with you, the impact multiplies.

If you’re ready to strengthen your ability to lead, challenge, and inspire at a higher level, that work starts internally.

Inside the Success Mastery Community, we focus on the mindset, habits, and leadership identity that allow you to influence others from a place of strength and integrity.

If that’s the direction you’re moving toward, schedule a Discovery Call and let’s explore whether it’s the right fit.

Because leadership isn’t about being admired.

It’s about helping others rise.
