âWithout gas in your car, it doesnât matter if you know where youâre going. You wonât reach your destination. Likewise, without mental and physical energy, you probably wonât reach your goals either.â ~MW
Letâs face it, we all have the same 24 hours in a day. But some people manage to get so much more done than others. You look at them and wonder how they do it. Or more specifically, you may wonder how they have the energy to do it all!
See the reality is, often itâs not that we need more time to get things done but rather, more energy.
Do you have enough energy to get everything you want accomplished each day or do you find that you are so tired by mid-day that itâs hard to focus and finish the day strong? Â
The best laid plans will not come to fruition if you donât have the mental and physical energy needed to take action toward achieving them. Thatâs why high levels of energy are a key element to high levels of productivity and success.
So if you find that you often lose st...
âThe key is not to prioritize whatâs on your schedule but to schedule your priorities.â Â ~Steven Covey
Prioritizing clarity is a crucial first step if you want to increase your productivity and reach your goals! When you have clarity about what your goals are, you have a detailed plan for what needs to be done to complete them and in what timeframe, plus you know why these goals or dreams are truly important to you; you will have a laser focused vision for your journey to success. Â
Ask Yourself:
Having clarity and focus helps you eliminate distractions. Think âbright shiny object syndromeâ here. You no longer get distracted by every ...
âThrough discipline comes freedom.â Â ~ Aristotle
Summertime is the perfect time for taking vacations. And having free time is important to your overall well-being and happiness. I take a lot of time off in the summer with my family. But the one thing I know is that if Iâm not disciplined enough to get my work done, itâs not only hard to get away but also hard to enjoy my time off, knowing that I have pressing projects or to-doâs hanging over my head. Not to mention the fact that if I donât have discipline in getting things done, I will never achieve or be successful with anything. As Jim Rohn says, âDiscipline is the bridge between goals and accomplishment.â
Thatâs why this weekâs quote, although so simple, is so very profound. It has been a complete game changer for me. Although, I will admit that when I first heard the concept that discipline equals freedom, I had a twinge of dislike because the stigma of the word discipline caught my attention first. Discipline in general tend...
âA dream is your creative vision for your life in the future. You must break out of your current comfort zone and become comfortable with the unfamiliar and the unknown.â ~ Denis Waitley
People often say they want a different life, but they canât really picture themselves living it. Or they say they want to be a different person, but they canât truly visualize themselves being that person. As a matter of fact, they canât see themselves anywhere but where they are right now or where theyâve come from.
What about you? Can you picture your future identity and your future life? Can you see past where you are right now or what you know from your past, to truly envision and create the dreams of your future?
Not being able to visualize your future identity can be one of the biggest factors to why you might not be moving forward in your life and why youâll struggle or fail to get to where you want to be or who you want to be. But donât worry, there is a way to move past this roadblock to yo...
âAs I unclutter my life, I free myself to answer the callings of my soul.â ~ Dr. Wayne Dyer
Spring is well in bloom here and before we know it, summer will be shining down on us. This past weekend, having been Motherâs Day, I was able to get my family to do something that probably wouldnât have happened had they not been wanting to do something nice for me. đ
See every year for Motherâs Day, they ask me what they can do for me. They know that my Love Language is âActs of Serviceâ. So this year, I told them I wanted the storage room clean. Oh, the groans! But they were accommodating nonetheless.
What I donât think they realized was just how important that was to me⌠And why clearing the clutter is important for you too!
Here's the deal, clutter really bothers me because when you allow too much clutter to fill up a space it can actually cause you to become distracted, lose focus and become less productive. Not to mention the negative energy that piles of clutter can create. So, i...
âIâve learned that you canât have everything and do everything at the same time.â ~ Oprah Winfrey
Throughout this month Iâve given you several simple but powerful ideas to intentionally incorporate self-care into your life, in an effort to help you let go of the tension, stress and overwhelm that life seems to hand us on a regular basis.
But all that Iâve given you are just theory and words if you donât put it into practice. So, itâs time for a little accountability check right here⌠How intentional have you been? Which of the practices have you tried? Which have you started consistently using? If you donât like your answers, read on⌠because I have three BONUS ideas for you to help you level up your intention so you can let go of tension.
Consistent â Consistency is the key to creating new habits. If you arenât consistently practicing the concepts Iâve shared with you or started your own self-care practices, it will be difficult to sustain the new habits youâre trying to creat...
âBegin each day with a little courage, a little curiosity and a little spring in your step.â Â ~ Doe Zantamata
What excites you and gives you a little spring in your step? Are you doing these things regularly? If not, then what are you waiting for?
Itâs so easy to go through life on auto pilot. Following a mundane routine, day in and day out. But what if you had the opportunity to make life a little more exciting? What would make you happy and put a little spring in your step today or this week?
If you find yourself living by the âWhen-Then Principleâ as I like to call it, then I want to invite you to reevaluate whatâs really important to you and make a plan to change the way you are living.
So, you ask⌠what is the âWhen-Then Principleâ? Well, itâs that rule of life that you follow when you find yourself always saying, âWhen I __________ then Iâll __________â You can fill in the blanks any way you like. When I make more money then Iâll be happy. When I finish this project then ...
âNo matter how long the winter, spring is sure to follow.â Â ~Proverb
Living in Colorado we have a saying, âIf you donât like the weather, wait five minutes, itâll change.â And springtime here is certainly guaranteed to make that statement ring true. Itâs this time of the year when one day it can be a beautiful warm, sunny, spring day and the next - a huge storm bringing freezing temps and several inches of snow. Itâs during this time that we start to feel like winter will never end. But, just like this weekâs quote, no matter how long the winter, spring is sure to follow.
So, what does this have to do with Masterful Mindsets and more importantly, life?
Well, it is a sign of hope! And not just hope for warmer days. But hope for new beginnings. Itâs a reminder that in the dark, dreary, cold spaces of your life, you can still have hope that no matter how long that period lasts, a new season of life will come and with it, new growth, promises of warmth and renewed beauty in your lif...
âYou are enough, you are so enough, itâs unbelievable how enough you are.â ~Sierra Boggess
Last week I shared three common negative thoughts that frequently emerge when someone is pushing outside their comfort zone, facing a challenge, or struggling in some way. But quite honestly, none of them would likely crop up if they werenât rooted in the mother of all sabotaging beliefs.
What is that belief? Well think about it for a second and then read onâŚ
The mother of all sabotaging beliefs is: âI am not good enough!â
Yep, if you dig deep into your negative thoughts, odds are high you will find most limiting beliefs and fears are rooted in the assumption that in some way, shape or form, you are not good enough to handle whatever it is you are facing.
Donât believe me? Try this little exercise the next time you find negative thoughts popping up in your head⌠If you ask the question âwhyâ after your thought, what would be your answer?
Now the initial answer might not sound exactly l...
"The best self-help must always begin with self-compassion." ~ Margie Warrell
Last month I confessed to you that I am a recovering perfectionist. And like so many of the people I work with who are high performers, we do tend to walk a fine line between having a desire to perform at a high level and trying to be perfect. But striving for progress rather than striving for perfection can actually free you to be your best self rather than getting paralyzed by the pressure of perfectionism.
It is my hope that after reading the article I wrote on this topic last month, you decided to make the shift with me. But, now what? Maybe youâve tried and then found yourself back in old patterns if being hyper-critical of yourself, feeling like you must prove your worth, overachieving and striving to be perfect once again⌠Â
If thatâs true, then this article is for you because now itâs time to help yourself step into this new way of being, beginning with having self-compassion. Yes, as our quote...
